2010 ALCS Preview Rangers vs Yankees
October 14, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
After dispatching the Rays in the first round of the 2010 MLB Playoffs, the Texas Rangers will face the New York Yankees in the 2010 ALCS. Both line ups are loaded with talent and both have capable pitching staffs. As a Rangers fan I am not used the restrictions that MLB puts in place to make you buy their stupid At Bat application if you want to listen to the games at work (without a radio). Usually I listen to radio over the web, but not during the playoffs, how dare anyone listen to their team over the internet with out paying Bud Selig and the MLB buffoons $10 – $20. MLB has even gone so far as to tell the tenants of the Rangers outfield office suites that they have to pay extra to use them during the playoff games, read more on that: Texas Rangers Suites. Enough about MLB’s iron fist, let’s preview the TV Channel, Game Information and pitching match ups between the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees in the 2010 ALCS.

Game 5 Preview: Texas Rangers vs Tampa Bay Rays
October 10, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Claw and Antlers couldn’t get it done in Arlington, and now the Rangers and Rays will return to Tampa Bay for ALDS game 5. The Rangers played sloppy defense and couldn’t get anything going on offense. If the Rangers want to win ALDS game 5 against the Rays they will have to pick up their play on both sides of the ball.
Rangers at Rays Game 5 Preview
Cliff Lee and David Price will take the mound in a game 5. If this sounds familiar, it should these two faced each other in game 1 of the Rangers-Rays playoff series. Cliff Lee looked dominant for the Rangers in game 1, and David Price didn’t impress. Don’t expect this to be a Rangers blowout again. The Rays seem to have it figured out on offense and the Rangers are looking sloppy in the field, which should make for a close game.

The All-Encompassing Texas Rangers Playoff Preview
October 5, 2010 by Cody Dunlap · Leave a Comment
In less than 48 hours, it will be time. Time for the Texas Rangers to show the world (granted, not quite as large a share as anticipated) what they have been telling us all year: It’s Time.
Cliff Lee will be on the hill for the local nine as they go up against their first non-Yankees playoff opponent ever. The Tampa Bay Rays posted the best record in the American League this year (96-66), but it was only six games better than the record of our favorite claw-wielding players.
It really is a shame that this playoff series is going to be banished to the middle of the afternoon. This should be a VERY exciting, tense, no-no-no-no-YES, oh-my-god-how-did-he-do-THAT series between two of the most exciting teams in Major League Baseball. So how do the Texas Rangers stack up against their opponents from the Sunshine State? Hit the jump like you’ve got seven at a blackjack table to find out.
Red River Rivalry: Texas vs Oklahoma 2010
September 29, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · 1 Comment
Texas will meet Oklahoma in the 2010 Red River Rivalry in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. Neither Texas or OU have looked like world beaters this year. The Texas Longhorns are coming off a disappointing loss to UCLA, and the Oklahoma Sooners have struggled against a few unranked opponents in recent weeks. It will definitely be an interesting matchup this year because of the way the teams strengths and weaknesses match up:
- Longhorn Offense (weak) vs Sooner Defense (weak)
- Sooner Offense (strong) vs Longhorn Defense (strong)

NFL Week 3 Preview: Cowboys at Texans
September 23, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Dallas Cowboys have put themselves in a big hole to start out the 2010 NFL Season. This year’s schedule was already tough, but now it is looking even tougher. Falling 0-2 on the year greatly diminishes the chances of the Cowboys making the playoffs. The Cowboys will travel down to Houston this week to play the undefeated Texans.
The Texans struggled against the Redskins, much the same as the Cowboys did however they were able to win the game in overtime. The Cowboys haven’t been blown out, they have lost two close games because of costly mistakes. Is this the week they can redeem themselves? I’m not sure, but tune into FOX at noon on Sunday to find out. The announcers for the Fox TV Channel will be Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Injury & Game information below.

NFL Week 2 Preview: Cowboys vs Bears
September 15, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Cowboys will get a chance to redeem themselves at Cowboys Stadium in week 2 of the NFL regular season. The Dallas Cowboys (0-1) will face the Chicago Bears (1-0) who are coming off a week 1 win. After losing to an awful Redskins team last week this is now a must win, I know this seems a bit premature but I will explain.
Last week the Cowboys gave up one of the easier road games of the season with the loss to the Redskins. The Cowboys need to beat this mediocre Bears team at home if they want to keep their schedule manageable down the stretch. My 2010 2011 cowboys schedule prediction didn’t make it past week 1. Schedule Prediction
All that aside, Last week the Bears beat the Lions 19-14. Not very impressive considering Stafford didn’t finish the game and the Bears still struggled. The Bears are starting to show their age on defense and Cutler’s numbers have been terrible without a big WR like Marshall. I want to predict that the Cowboys will win this game, but don’t really feel comfortable doing so after last week. The odds don’t do much for me either, there are too many wildcards in this game to bet confidently. Hopefully the Cowboys will make some changes this week in practice, but I don’t expect the red zone offense to improve until Jason Garrett is outed and that doesn’t appear to be coming anytime soon. Read below for all of the important game information including the spread, over/under, TV Channel, TV Announcer, Kickoff and more.

NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins
September 8, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Dallas Cowboys will face the new look Washington Redskins, who now have Mike Shanahan at the helm. However Mike Shanahan seems to have adopted the Dan Snyder’s mentality of only signing players who are past their prime. If this was 2005 the Redskins would have one of the best offenses in the league, but it is 2010. The Redskins acquired Donovon McNabb from the Eagles via trade this offseason, and Donavan is already nursing an injury.
On the other hand you have our beloved Cowboys who looked pathetic in the preseason, squandering pretty much all of their scoring opportunities. Hopefully they were just being conservative in the preseason, however last years stats say otherwise. Think about this, the Cowboys ranked 2nd right behind the Saints in yards per game with just under 400. However when you look at points per game the Saints maintain the #1 spot with 31 points per game, the Cowboys on the other hand ranked #14 with 22.6 points per game. The offense was inefficient last year, and it looks inefficient this year. I think Seth Eisenburg’s quote that “If it looks like $h@t, smells like $h@t, and feels like $h@t, you don’t have to actually eat it to know it’s $h@t.” applies here. Don’t get me wrong I think the Cowboys are still going to win some games, I just question keeping Jason Garrett around if the offense is so inefficient it needs almost 200 yards per 7 points.

Preseason: Dallas Cowboys vs Miami Dolphins
August 31, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · 1 Comment
The Dallas Cowboys will play the Miami Dolphins at Cowboys Stadium on Thursday.
This will mark the end of the Dallas Cowboys traveling carnival of a training camp, 3 cities and 5 games may have been a bit much. The Cowboys looked horrible last week and the starters may have to play again vs the Dolphins, Dez Bryant should be back on the field in this tilt as well. I know it is just the preseason, but you can’t keep telling me that the team is practicing really well in spite of their awful play. Last time I checked your record is comprised of wins and losses, not how many times you have a “good practice”.
All that aside the Cowboys starters including Dez Bryant, and who knows maybe the Cowboys will decide to open up the playbook against the Dolphins, and get out of their rut before week 1. We won’t know until Thursday so tune in or set the DVR for the first half. Below is the Cowboys vs Dolphins game information including: tv channel, tv time, parking and tickets.

Preseason: Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans
August 22, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Houston to play the Texans in the 2010 NFL Preseason. The Cowboys have suffered several injuries already this preseason, so hopefully they can get through their trip to Houston without anymore. The Cowboys have looked great on defense in the preseason and if offensive coordinator Jason Garrett can call some decent plays in the red zone the Cowboys should have a shot at doing some big things this year.
After the Cowboys face the Houston Texans this week they will come home to Dallas (Arlington) to face the Miami Dolphins in their fifth and final preseason game for 2010. Playing 5 preseason games is definitely a little overboard, but hopefully the Boys can get by without anymore major injuries. Read below for the Cowboys Texans TV Channel, TV Time, and other important information about the game.

Preseason: Dallas Cowboys at San Diego Chargers
August 14, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
Wade Phillips will match up against his old team when the Dallas Cowboys face the San Diego Chargers in the 2010 NFL Preseason. This will be the Cowboys only meeting with the Chargers this year unless the 2 teams meet up in the post season. The Chargers running game has become stagnant since ex Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner took over as head coach. The main reason for this was the decline in the play of Ladainian Tomlinson and Norv Turner’s focus on the passing game because of it. Well Ladainian is gone now and there has been a lot of fantasy football buzz around incoming rookie replacement Ryan Matthews.
The Cowboys lost to the Oakland Raiders in 17-9 in last weeks preseason game, however the Cowboys were winning up until the end of the game when the field was full of replacement players. However the lack of touchdowns by the Cowboys is a bit worrisome, especially when you take into account the recent trouble the team has had at the kicker position. However current Cowboys kicker David Buehler has proved that he deserves a chance this year. Hopefully Jason Garrett can figure out a red zone scheme that doesn’t involve throwing 3 straight times on the 2 yard line. Below is the Cowboys at Chargers TV Time, TV Channel, Kickoff and other information.
