Dallas Round Up – A Busy Week For Dallas Sports Fans
December 15, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
The NFL is sharing the spotlight in Dallas this week as the Stars are getting hot, the Mavericks are trying to make moves for their title defense and the Rangers are plotting their next attack as well.
The Cowboys fell 37-34 to the New York Giants at home, and Wagerweb reviews of this game may state that it just felt like a game that Dallas would lose. They were up by 12 with 3:14 to go, but the Cowboys made a few mental mistakes down the stretch and now they’re tied with the Giants for the lead in the NFC East. Dallas has to shake this loss off quickly as they’re in Tampa Bay on Saturday night and this is a game they need to have to keep pace in the East.
The Stars are atop the Pacific Division as of Thursday, when they’ll be in New York to face the Islanders, and they had won two in a row after blanking the Rangers 1-0 on Tuesday. Those who order price per head bookmaking software are slowly getting back in the Stars’ bandwagon after a rough patch that involved a slew of injuries, and goalie Richard Bachman has been solid over the past two games as Dallas wraps up their road trip in New Jersey on Friday. The Stars have the weekend off before hosting Anaheim and Philadelphia next week.
The Mavericks already look different from the team that won the title over Miami as Tyson Chandler is gone (New York), as is playoff sparkplug J.J. Barea (Minnesota). Chandler should be the biggest difference-maker among those that purchase pay head service as his defense was a massive factor in last season’s win, but the Mavericks picked up Lamar Odom, which weakens their rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers and gives the Mavericks some flexibility. Dallas also signed Vince Carter and while he is obviously past his best, he can provide some scoring off the bench.
The Rangers are another team aiming to make some noise in the offseason, although they’ve already been a player who came out on the wrong end of the C.J. Wilson deal as he signed with the Los Angeles Angels, Texas’ American League West rivals who also signed Albert Pujols. The Rangers are now trying to strike a deal with Derek Holland, whom the Rangers would like to step up to the top of the rotation in place of Wilson. Holland is arbitration-eligible now and would be a free agent in 2015, but after Wilson left, the Rangers would like to tie him up and give themselves a chance to boost their online wagering odds.
Dallas Round-Up – It Has Been A Busy Week For Dallas Sports Fans

A BetOnline review of the week that was in Dallas would cover an extremely busy time that started with a Cowboy collapse in the desert ahead of a huge divisional showdown, while the Stars are barely keeping their head above water in the NHL. The Rangers lost their best starting pitcher to free agency and the world champion Mavericks are in the midst of losing the lynchpin to their defensive success.
Some BetOnline players don’t know what to think about the Cowboys, who were undone by coaching mistakes in a 19-13 overtime loss in Arizona, their third road loss in a row to the Cardinals. The Cowboys’ offense struggled to put points on the board, but head coach Jason Garrett made some strange decisions at the end of the game that probably cost the Cowboys, who have to recovery quickly and take their one-game NFC East game into a Sunday night affair with the New York Giants, who have dropped four in a row, but they’re still considered dangerous by those who use pay per head services.
The Stars edged Ottawa 3-2 at home on Thursday before falling 5-4 to the New York Islanders, also at home, on Saturday. Dallas has been off since then as they prepare to open up a five-game road trip in San Jose on Thursday, before heading Los Angeles on the weekend and then they do a swing through both New York teams next week. The Stars have been riddled by injuries, but they’re still second in the Pacific division as all of their competition are having problems as well.
The Rangers are coming off their second straight World Series odds and some who purchase bookie software figured they’ll have solid odds again in 2012. However, they’ll have their hands full in the American League West as they lost ace C.J. Wilson to their rivals, the Los Angeles Angels, who also lured future Hall of Fame slugger Albert Pujols from St. Louis. The Rangers may have to overpay to bring someone in to replace Wilson and they were in the hunt for Pujols as well, but Texas may feel pressure to make a move.
The Mavericks can sympathize with the Rangers as it never really looked like Wilson would stay when he could receive a better contract on the open market, and Dallas seems resigned to losing center Tyson Chandler, who may have been the Mavericks’ second-most valuable player behind Dirk Nowitzki. Chandler turned the Mavericks into an excellent defensive team and he allowed Nowitzki to focus more on offense, which in turn led the Mavericks to a title. If they lose Chandler and don’t replace him somehow, the Mavericks will fall down the pecking order at online betting sites.
Dallas Sports Fan – Cowboys Rolling, Stars Falling Back To Earth

If you’ve been following Dallas’ NFL schedule, you’ve seen that the Cowboys are starting to get it together as they head into the second half of the season. Meanwhile, the Stars are starting to slide as a recent skid may have some fans wondering what is wrong.
It’s not a BetOnline scam if you see the Cowboys as a favorite for the NFC East in a sportsbook as they’re now one game behind the New York Giants after a 44-7 trouncing of Buffalo at home for their third win in four games. Tony Romo was excellent, throwing for 270 yards and three touchdowns, but the Cowboys’ per head odds are rising due to the play of DeMarco Murray, who ran for 135 yards and a score, as he takes a ton of the pressure off of Romo, who can be more relaxed knowing that the Cowboys can run the ball and he doesn’t have to make any plays outside of his skill set. Dallas will now head to Washington for a road game with their bitter rivals, the Redskins, who have dropped five in a row and are having massive quarterback troubles. This is the perfect time for the Cowboys are continue their roll and with the Giants hosting Philadelphia on Sunday night, there is a possibility that the Cowboys could be tied for first place in the division when they wake up on Monday morning, but first, they have to take care of business against the Redskins.
Price per head sports fans watched Dallas fly out of the gates to begin the NHL season, and heading into Thursday’s games, the Stars were still atop the Pacific Division by a point over Phoenix and Los Angeles, but a three-game skid may worry some fans. After scoring 20 goals in a four-game winning streak, the Stars scored just three in three games as they fell 3-1 in Pittsburgh and 5-2 in Detroit, but it’s a 6-0 shutout loss at home to Florida that is particularly troubling as it was their worst loss of the season and they never looked like they were in the game. The Stars have also had to deal with injuries and now Adam Burish is on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks because of a broken hand. We’re going to find out what the Stars are really all about as they’re in Colorado on Friday night, then they return home to face San Jose, Edmonton and Los Angeles in a busy week that will have an effect on the standings in the Western Conference. However, if the Stars are dominated this week, their faith among sport betting online players will diminish.
Dallas Round-Up – Cowboys Prepare For Bills, Stars Continue To Shine
November 10, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
If you’re following NHL scores, it may be time to start wondering if the Dallas Stars are for real as they are passing their early-season tests with flying colors. But first, we’ll start with the Cowboys, who are getting ready to welcome an old rival to town.
The Cowboys didn’t cover the Bet Online spread in a 23-13 win over a horrible Seattle team, but it was a good bounce-back win after getting thumped in Philadelphia in their previous game. Tony Romo threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns, but DeMarco Murray continues to impress as he ran for 139 yards and the Cowboys ran for 163 yards as a team. If the Cowboys can run the ball effectively, that creates more space for Romo and more importantly, takes the pressure off him to make big plays all the time, which leads to mistakes. This week, the Cowboys will be at home against Buffalo, who has lost twice in the Super Bowl to Dallas in their past, and even though they don’t play that much, there is an underlying rivalry because of the Super Bowl meetings. The Bills are also coming off a big loss against the New York Jets, so they’ll be trying to right the ship, and the Cowboys need a win as well to keep pace with the Giants in the NFC East.
Dallas Stars
Per head players are still trying to figure out if they should take a flier on the Stars, who have the most points in the NHL as of Thursday. They’ve played twice this week, rolling to a 5-2 win in Carolina, but the most impressive win came in Washington, where they romped to another 5-2 victory over the Capitals and it is games like these that make you think the Stars are for real. The Stars have now won four in a row and they’ve scored 20 goals in those four games, which is a departure from earlier in the year when defense kept them in games. Those goal-scoring exploits aren’t likely to continue like this, but at least the potential is there for the Stars, who will still probably be the underdogs in your pay per head sportsbook this weekend as they’ll be in Pittsburgh on Friday and Detroit on Saturday. This is a tough back-to-back but again, it’s a test to see how the Stars stack up against the best in the league. They’ll return home on Tuesday to host Florida, but the Panthers are also playing well this season so Dallas can’t afford to take their foot off the gas if they want to keep the confidence of online wagering players.
Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Go Down, Cowboys Join Them, Stars Continue Hot Start
November 3, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
Breeders Cup betting will likely take some attention in Dallas, and none too soon as fans of the Texas Rangers may need something to take their mind off a second straight World Series loss. Meanwhile, the Cowboys got rolled by a division rival, while the Stars continue to roll early in the NHL season.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers were a huge per head favorite leading three games to two going back to St. Louis, and in Game 6, they were within a strike of ending it all twice, but the Cardinals wouldn’t go away and won 10-9 in 11 innings in one of the best World Series games of all time (even if you are a Rangers fan). The Cardinals would go on to win Game 7 by a score of 6-2 to send the Rangers home empty-handed for the second year in a row, and now Texas has some questions to answer in the offseason, namely, do they splurge to keep free agent pitcher C.J. Wilson? He’ll be one of the biggest fish on the market and it could turn into a bidding war as teams (we’re looking at you, New York Yankees) aim to improve their rotation and price per head odds.
The Cowboys were routed 34-7 in Philadelphia in a game that wasn’t even that close, and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan calling the Eagles “the All-Hype team” probably didn’t help matters. His defense has no answer for the Eagles’ offense as Philadelphia ran for 239 yards. The Cowboys also tried to take away the Eagles’ deep threats, but they were massacred over the middle as Michael Vick took advantage of an injury to linebacker Sean Lee, who broke his wrist and Dallas had to put in Keith Brooking, who was exposed in coverage. Lee will try to play through his injury when Seattle comes to town this week, and it’s no BetOnline scam that the Cowboys are 11.5-point favorites at home.
The Stars remain on top of the Pacific after a week which saw them lose 5-3 at home to Los Angeles, but they rebounded to drop New Jersey 3-1, also at home. Dallas is fourth in the league in points allowed as they continue to employ a stout defense; they know they’re not going to win any offensive firefights. This week’s action brings a home game against Colorado on Friday, before they head out on the road to Carolina and Washington. The Stars have to keep their shape defensively if they are going to continue this run throughout the season, because we all know that defense wins Stanley Cups, and they could be a dangerous darkhorse for NHL fans.
Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Look To Close Out Cards, Cowboys Face Eagles, Stars Still Shining
October 27, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
NHL fans in Dallas are hopeful that the Stars can continue their strong start, and soon they’ll only have one team to compete with as the Texas Rangers have a maximum of two games left in the World Series, and fans will hope they only need one. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are coming off a big win as they prepare for a massive showdown with a division rival.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers would love to be celebrating a World Series win right now, but Game 6 was postponed from Wednesday to Thursday due to rain in St. Louis. BetOnline reviews would tell you that Texas is a +105 underdog on the road on Thursday night as they send out Colby Lewis to face Jaime Garcia, who will try to send this series to a seventh game, which will take place on Friday night if the weather holds off. Texas is in a good position to win their first World Series, but if this goes to a seventh game, Matt Harrison will get the call for the Rangers.
Price per head services forecasted a Cowboys’ win last week against lowly St. Louis, but what they didn’t see coming was a 235-yard performance from DeMarco Murray, who will get more work with Felix Jones on the sidelines. Murray ran for a 91-yard score early in the first quarter and it was smooth sailing from there on for the Cowboys, who needed a win to get some of their mojo back before they head to Philadelphia on Sunday night for a huge meeting with the Eagles, who are coming off a bye and snapped a four-game skid in their last game. The Cowboys are one game ahead of the Eagles in the NFC East, and especially in a primetime setting, Dallas can’t afford to come in flat.
The Stars are atop the Pacific Division as of Thursday, and price per head sports fans will see that they’re doing it with defense (fourth in the NHL in goals allowed) and by protecting their home ice (4-0-0 in Dallas). The Stars spent all week on the road, defeating Anaheim 3-1 and Phoenix 3-2 in a shootout, but it was a 1-0 loss in Los Angeles that some of the players think was their best game of the season, which shows the mentality Dallas has in their locker room. This week, the Stars return home to play the Kings, who trail Dallas by three points, before New Jersey and Colorado come to town. It may be a good time to jump on the Stars’ odds right now at sports betting sites.
Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Move Closer, Cowboys Rest Up, Stars
October 13, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
MLB fans in the Dallas area must be ecstatic with the Texas Rangers right now, and this series may not even make it back to the Lone Star State, but they’ll have to go through the probable Cy Young winner to make that happen. In football news, the Cowboys are well-rested after a bye, but they have a massive test waiting for them, while the Stars drop the puck on the NHL season.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers have rolled to a 3-1 lead in the ALCS against Detroit, and after a subpar ALDS, Texas’ big guns are coming around and a good sportsbook review would tell you that the Rangers need to score in order to move on. Nelson Cruz has been the star of the show and he put the Rangers on his back in a pair of 11th-inning wins. First in Texas for Game 2, Cruz hit the first walk-off grand slam in postseason history in a 7-3 victory, and then in Game 4 in Detroit, Cruz threw out the Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera in the eighth inning to keep the score at 3-3, and then he hit a three-run dinger in the 11th to power the Rangers to another 7-3 win. On Thursday, the Rangers will try to defeat Detroit ace Justin Verlander for the second time in the series, and if they can do that, it’s back to the World Series for the second year in a row.
Price per head sports fans aren’t giving the Cowboys much of a chance as they come off a bye to head to New England, coming in as 7-point underdogs. But Dallas has received a bit of good news as receivers Miles Austin (hamstring) and Dez Bryant (quad) practiced fully and will be close to 100% in what should be a high-scoring affair. However, the key will be a secondary that was lit up by Detroit two weeks ago; can they hold off a New England offense that is the top-ranked unit in the league? Pay head players should definitely consider the over in this contest as both secondaries struggle; it should be a fantasy player’s dream, as well.
The Stars have won two of their first three games to kick off the 2011-12 NHL campaign, and they split a home-and-home with Chicago on Friday and Saturday, taking the first game at home by a score of 2-1, and then falling 5-2 in the Windy City the next night. On Monday, the Stars claimed a 2-1 shootout win at home over Phoenix and then they’ll be at home to St. Louis on Thursday. Dallas ends this week with another home-and-home against Columbus, at home on Saturday and on the road in Tuesday, and a quick start would do a lot to foster some faith among sports betting sites.
Dallas Sports Fan – The Progressing Rangers, A Regressing Romo And The Stars Get Ready
October 6, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
MLB scores are the highlight of the week if you’re a sports fan in the Dallas area, as the Texas Rangers are heading back to the ALCS, while Tony Romo reverted to his old (normal?) self for the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Stars prepare to sharpen their skates for the upcoming NHL season.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers ended Tampa Bay’s dream season with a 4-3 victory in Game 4 of the ALDS on the road, powered by a trio of homers from Adrian Beltre. The Texas offense wasn’t that great throughout the series, hitting .211, but the best Sportsbook.com review will tell you that you need pitching at this time of year, and the Rangers’ hurlers stepped up. Rookie All-Star Alexi Ogando shrugged off his second-half slide to move to the bullpen and be an excellent bridge between the starters and closer Neftali Feliz. Now, the Rangers will wait for the winner of Detroit-New York Yankees, who will have their Game 5 on Thursday night.
Dallas Cowboys
The bye week probably couldn’t come quick enough for Tony Romo, although the entire team should take the blame for allowing Detroit to come back from a 24-point deficit to stun the Cowboys 34-30 in Dallas. Romo was 34-of-47 for 331 yards and three touchdowns, but he also threw three picks, two of which were run back for scores and that is a quick way to drop your stock among price per head services. The Cowboys are going to have this week off to lick their wounds and prepare for a massive trip to New England in Week 6, because the Patriots will be coming off their own showdown with the New York Jets and will be ready to go.
Dallas Stars
Per head players aren’t giving the Stars much of a chance this season, especially after star center Brad Richards signed with the New York Rangers in free agency. But Dallas has some experience and enough discipline to give some of the top teams a headache. They’ll open the season on Friday at home against Chicago, their old rivals from the Norris Division when the Stars were “north” in Minnesota, and then they’ll head to Chicago the next night for the second half of a back-to-back doubleheader. This will be a matchup of age (Dallas is the fourth-oldest team in the NHL) against youth (Chicago is the 11th-youngest team in the league), and the Blackhawks are looking to get off to a good start after a disappointing follow-up to their Stanley Cup run of two years ago. This will be one of many exciting hockey options in your online betting book this week.
Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Will Send Four To Phoenix, Stars Aggressive In Free Agency
July 7, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
MLB betting players in Dallas are getting ready for the All-Star break, but first Texas has to get through the final weekend of the first half of the season with the lead in the American League West. In NHL hockey news, the Stars were surprisingly aggressive in the first week of free agency.
The Rangers had a rough weekend last week at home against Florida, dropping two out of three to the National League East club, but they rebounded nicely with a three-game sweep of Baltimore at home, scoring 13 runs in two of the three meetings. Texas now has a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Angels in the West as they head into a four-game set at the Ballpark against Oakland, and then the Rangers will send four players to the All-Star Game in Phoenix, and those following MLB news will see Josh Hamilton as a starter once again, although he will sit out the Home Run Derby. C.J. Wilson also makes the team, as well as Adrian Beltre and Michael Young, who was supposed to be traded out of Texas ahead of the season. The Rangers will then begin the second half of the campaign in Seattle, who are also still hanging tough in the West despite a perennially anemic offense.
NHL free agency kicked off last Friday on July 1st, and the Stars were busy on both ends. Dallas knew they were resigned to losing Brad Richards as he wanted a long-term deal that the Stars weren’t willing to offer. The New York Rangers then tried to boost their sports betting odds for next season by signing Richards to a nine-year, $58.5 million deal, and that was definitely out of the Stars’ budget. Dallas also lost Aaron Gagnon, but the Stars didn’t sit back and mourn. Michael Ryder, fresh off a Stanley Cup with Boston, signed with the Stars for two years and $7 million, and they’re hoping that he can reignite a spark with Mike Ribiero, who was his linemate in Montreal. The Stars also signed defenseman Sheldon Souray, who had been playing in the AHL last year as Edmonton tried to get rid of his hefty salary, and the Stars are hoping that he can be a power-play quarterback as he still possesses one of the biggest shots in the NHL. Radek Dvorak also decided to come to Dallas as they look to reload after their best player left, and they didn’t do a bad job, especially at a fraction of the cost. However, while the Stars have made some good moves, they probably won’t be a popular play in next year’s sports betting odds.
Dallas Round Up – Rangers Still Holding On To First; Mavs, Stars Try To Reload
June 30, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
Baseball betting should take up the majority of your time if you’re a Dallas-area fan or wagering player as the Texas Rangers are the big show in town, and they’ll doing their best to keep Los Angeles at bay in the American League West. In other news, the Mavericks are looking to build on their title, while the Stars have to figure out what to do with their star free agent.
Texas Rangers
Heading into Thursday’s series finale in Houston against the Astros, the Rangers had a 1.5-game lead over the Angels in the West, and a win on Thursday would give the Ranges a sweep of their state rivals. That would be a good switch from losing two of three at home against the New York Mets last weekend, and now the Rangers will have a chance to increase their gap on the Angels in the MLB standings as they come back home on Friday for a three-game set against Florida, which will be followed by a visit from Baltimore. Texas has a good chance to win four or five games ahead of their final series before the All-Star break, so the Rangers should put their foot on the gas.
Even MLB betting players in the area were celebrating when the Mavericks took down the celebrated Miami Heat to win their first NBA title, but now it’s back to business as usual for Mark Cuban and company. The Mavericks began their title defense in the NBA draft, where they had only one pick, selecting Texas forward Jordan Hamilton with the 26th pick. Hamilton would be a solid addition to the Mavericks, who need to get younger, but then they traded him to Portland for forward Rudy Fernandez (Hamilton was then moved to Denver). And we still haven’t heard anything out of Cuban, who used to have a mouth like a WWE superstar.
The Stars’ Brad Richards will hit NHL free agency on Friday, and the prevailing thought is that Dallas won’t be able to resign the set-up man, who had 28 goals and 49 assists for 77 points in 72 games last season, but he made $7.8 million. He has stated that he wants to go to a hockey market and a team with a chance at contending, although salary will surely have something to do with it. There are a lot of teams interested in the biggest fish in the free-agent pond, with Toronto and Tampa Bay (who traded Richards to Dallas) reportedly leading the list of suitors. Even though Richards is 31 years old, whichever team picks him up will boost their NHL betting odds.
