Chevrolet and Transformers 3 Super Bowl Commercials

February 6, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

One of the many reasons we watch the Super Bowl are the commercials, why wait until the Super Bowl to see them?. Chevrolet and Transformers have teamed up to bring you their Super Bowl commercials early, so don’t wait until the game to see these when you can watch them on the Chevrolet YouTune channel right now.

My favorites were the Al’s Chevrolet spot and the Miss Evelyn spot. Which spot did you like? Comment below.

In full disclosure, this post is part of a sponsorship campaign with Chevy/GM in coordination with Lijit Networks, Inc. for SuperBowl XLV. I received compensation for these posts, but the opinions expressed here are my own.

MartyBTV and Other Dallas Athletes on Twitter | LOTD

July 16, 2009 by · 1 Comment

Times are changing, we are now living in the age of information, and it has brought unprecedented access to athletes and celebrities. Athletes are using twitter, facebook, MySpace, and YouTube to stay connected with their fans. If you have the internet and love the Dallas Cowboys or even just Dallas sports in general you have no doubt heard of Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett or MartyBTV as he is known on twitter and YouTube. One of his latest videos has the internet on fire because some people believe that the content is questionable. The video is of Martellus and his brother competing to see who can eat chicken and drink Kool-Aid in the least amount of time in what they call the “black Olympics”. This video is no worse than comedian Dave Chapelle’s episode that included a racial draft. Martellus is clearly having fun and not making a political statement so if you don’t like the movie feel free to turn it off. Or you can write about how you dislike it and it saddens you like Jason Whitlock did. This will just further publicize the thing that you supposedly dislike, hmmm you think that people would catch on to that. Or maybe they already have.

Below are the videos as well as the twitter usernames of Dallas area athletes. Feel free to comment.

Links of the Day: Power through!

July 15, 2009 by · 1 Comment

With none of the four major sports going today, it is officially the slowest sports day of the year. A good chance for sports fans to catch our breath however, because starting tomorrow, things will get ramped up in a hurry. The Open Championship kicks off tomorrow from Turnberry, and Tiger Woods is still in search of that 15th major after two top-ten finishes in the majors this year. We’ll have more on the British later today, but first, here are some links for your perusal:

LOTD: Why are so Many Teams Firing Head Coaches?

January 13, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

With the end of any season, sports fans can expect to see some teams fire their coaches and start fresh. The end of this years NFL season was no exception, with numerous NFL teams dropping their head coaches after disapointing seasons.

The Detroit Lions and Saint Louis Rams coaches were certain to be fired, as were some others as tenures ran out and owners patience ran thin. While Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips is apparently safe, other teams are interviewing Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett to fill their vacancy.

Sportsfans of Boston put out an interesting article analyzing several recent vacancies. Here’s an excerpt of the article:

Rod Marinelli
Of these head coaches, Rod Marinelli without doubt deserved it. The Lions, while lacking in talent, also lacked in preparation. When it was obvious that their offense should’ve been just throwing jump balls to Calvin Johnson, Marinelli took about 10 weeks more to realize it and then had the change made.

Check out the rest of the article to find out all the other recent firings in the NFL.

Link of the Day: Sports Blog Network Gives Bloggers Many Opportunities

January 12, 2009 by · 4 Comments

Dallas Sports Fans was launched with one goal in mind, to provide a forum for all fans of local Dallas sports teams and all sports fans in the Dallas area. Being relatively new to the blogosphere, my expectations were pretty low, and I expected that for the first few months, we would be struggling to find readers

However, thanks to the help of several powerful sports blogs networks, I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of traffic driven to Dallas Sports Fans. One of these networks is the Sports Blog Network.

According to the About page on the Sports Blog Network’s website:

Sports Blog Net is currently built on the principal of making all blogs in the network as successful as possible. Both in terms of money and traffic. We want sports fans to Discover, Read, Write, and Build.

Our goals are to get all the small blogs out to the masses, give new bloggers the ability to get the exposure they are looking for, and give sports fans a destination that they want to visit everyday.

We at Dallas Sports Fans are excited about the opportunity to work with the Sports Blog Network and other affiliated blogs. Networks such as the Sports Blog Network are a great way for a new blogger to quickly build a following and begin creating revenue to open up more opportunities to get involved in the active community of online sports fans.

In an effort to build relationships with other sports blogs and provide readers with the best content online, DSF will also start offering the Link of the Day postings. LOTD posts are simply a way to say thank you to all the other sports bloggers that have helped us and continue to help us build a fan base.

Here are some other great posts that you should check out:
