Cowboys 2010 – 2011 Schedule & Opponents

January 25, 2010 by MattDSF

Dallas Cowboys StarThe Cowboys Season is over after a heartbreaking loss in Minnesota. Jason Garrett seemed to forget that the Vikings have one of the best Defensive Lines in the NFL when he was making the game plan. Seriously why would you run Barber outside when you have Jones & Choice.

All that aside, now that the 2009 – 2010 Season is over lets look at the opponents that will be on the 2010 – 2011 Dallas Cowboys schedule. I think that everyone will agree that the Cowboys schedule is going to be tough one this season.

Dallas Cowboys Home Games – Schedule & Opponents

New York Giants | 8 – 8 – 0

note: Not sure how I feel about the Giants, without Strahan I think they lack the leadership they need. Eli Manning doesn’t appear capable of providing it.

Cowboys Win

Philadelphia Eagles | 11 – 5 – 0

note: The Cowboys continue their mastery of the Eagles.

Cowboys Win

Washington Redskins | 4 – 12 – 0

note: Mike Shannahan won’t be able to fix their problems in 1 year if at all. His last season with Denver doesn’t do much to make me think that things will be different in Washington.

Cowboys Win

Chicago Bears | 7 – 9 – 0

note: The Bears defense is fading, and Jay Cutler does not appear to be the answer on offense.

Cowboys Win

Detroit Lions | 2 – 14 – 0

note: This game is a must win, the Lions are a few years from turning that thing around.

Cowboys Win

New Orleans Saints | 13- 3 – 0

note: The Cowboys beat the Saints breaking their undefeated record. The Saints had injury trouble for this game last year. This one could go either way.

Push

Jacksonville Jaguars | 7 – 9 – 0

note: The Jaguars and Cowboys will put on a good game, but I think the Cowboys will handle the Jaguars.

Cowboys Win

Tennessee Titans | 8 – 8 – 0

note: The outcome of this game will depend on which Titans show up from last year. The Titans that went on a win streak or the Titans that went on a losing streak.

Dallas Cowboys Road Games – Schedule & Opponents

New York Giants | 8 – 8 – 0

note: Even though the Giants were terrible last year, this is still a road game against a divisional opponent.

Push

Philadelphia Eagles | 11 – 5 – 0

note: The Cowboys have the Eagles number, but again this is a divisional opponent.

Push

Washington Redskins | 4 – 12 – 0

note: I think that the Redskins will have a terrible season next year, another new offense.

Cowboys Win

Green Bay Packers | 11 – 5 – 0

note: I don’t see the Cowboys going up to Lambeau and beating the Packers, it’s too tough to win up their against a strong Packers defense.

Cowboys Loss

Minnesota Vikings | 12 – 4 – 0

note: This game will depend on whether Favre returns or not, but this is a tough matchup for the Cowboys even if he doesn’t.

Cowboys Loss

Arizona Cardinals | 10 – 6 – 0

note: Will Warner return? if Kurt does the Cardinals are a playoff contender, but if Matt Leinhart is the QB not quite so scary.

Cowboys Loss

Houston Texans | 9 – 7 – 0

note: The Texans are so up and down it is hard to know what will happen here.

Push

Indianapolis Colts | 14 – 2 – 0

note: Two words: Peyton Manning.

Cowboys Loss

The 2010 season could bring one of the toughest schedules the Cowboys have seen in a while, the Cowboys 2010 opponents were 139 – 117 – 0 in 2009 if my math serves me right. Is this a tough schedule, yes, but this is the NFL and who knows how any team will fare from year to year. Looking at the schedule I have determined that the Cowboys have 7 games that they should win for sure and 4 games that I don’t see them winning. This leaves 5 games that could go either way, if the Cowboys can win 3 of these they will finish 10 – 6. Basically the Cowboys need to beat 3 of these 5 teams in the 2010 season for a shot at a playoff and possible superbowl in Dallas.

We Cowboys fans have to stick together and if we do, it on to a hometown Super Bowl. Is there really any better incentive than that! Here We Come………

THE COWBOYS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO START LOOKING FOR A QUARTERBACK THIS YEAR FOR THE FUTURE

  9. Alfred Marmolejo Sr. on April 6th, 2010 10:17 am

DOES ANYONE OUT THERE DISAGREE WITH ME, IF SO PLEASE COMMENT.

  10. Matt Lawrence on April 6th, 2010 10:39 am

I think Romo still has plenty of good years left, but you always need to be looking for future replacements at every position.

  11. Marlon Mark on April 6th, 2010 3:28 pm

I AGREE! THE COWBOYS NEED TO START LOOKING FOR A FUTURE REPLACEMENT FOR ROMO, ESPECIALLY IF HE DOESN’T WIN IT AGAIN THIS YEAR. LOOK THE GUY IS GOOD AT TIMES BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A ROOKIE QB LIKE MARK SANCHEZ MAKING IT TO A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BEFORE YOU DO, GOD FORBID IF IT WAS THE SUPER BOWL, LIKE NICK BONOUCONTI WOULD SAY I’M NOT TO SURE IF ROMO IS SEXY ENOUGH TO MAKE IT TO THE BIG GAME. MAYBE HE SHOULD TRY PUTTING ON SOME EYE BLACK UNDERNEATH HIS EYES. DALLAS SHOULD TRY TO MOVE UP IN THE DRAFT TO GET COLT MCCOY. WHY NOT? HE HAS THE NAME, HE HAS THE LOOKS AND HE’S TOUGH. IT’S EITHER A QB OR WIDE RECEIVER.

Cowboys rock. wen they pay in their new stadium the crowd will be ON their seats. i believe te cowboys will go 12-4 with a first round bye and win the super bowl 35-31 over either the colts, chargers, pats, or the jets but they’ll win for sure. oh dont forget mvp is mr. austin

  14. Texx on April 20th, 2010 10:17 pm

No, the Cowboys do not need to start looking for a new quarterback, Romo needs some good players around him!

  15. Matt Lawrence on April 20th, 2010 10:32 pm

I think Dez Bryant is going to slide or Jerry will make a move to get him.

  16. scott cowley on April 22nd, 2010 10:18 am

The only thing missing from the cowboys is a coach with a go for the jugular mentality. We need to put the hammer down from the opening kick off to the final second, don’t let teams in the game or come from behind. I don’t care if they say you are running up the score, if you can’t keep up go home!

  17. travis on July 23rd, 2010 2:23 am

for real guys dont be STUPID!romo has plenty of time in his career!if you know anything about football it was not romo’s fault in the viking playoff game it was the oline!the guy had no time at all.i think garrett is a big problem.

I remember the Ice Bowl. Never should have let Tom Landry go. I know Jimmy won it but with Landry’s guys. Roger was the best ever. Bar none. Emmitt was the best too. I remember Danny Villenuava the Mexican placekicker. I remember Lee Folkins flipping the football to Tom Landry in a fit of pique. Dandy Don was fun on the field and in the booth. Hollywood was funny. I liked him. Whatever you do Dallas trade up to get Jake Locker next year. He’s a competitor and a winner.

frustrated Seahawk fan but I’ll always love Dallas

  29. Big Blue on August 29th, 2010 8:49 pm

Cowboys for life, we win it all this year, Cowgirls fans are the best, go Dallas

  30. Rashon Williamson on August 29th, 2010 10:45 pm
