Cowboys in the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl

January 27, 2010 by

2010 NFL Pro BowlThe Dallas Cowboys will have 9 Players in the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday. No that was not a typo the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl will be this weekend in South Florida, not Hawaii. The NFL has moved the Pro Bowl up so that it is part of the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl.

This is a good move by the NFL, it will create buzz and people might actually watch the game this year. I know if I am around the house on Sunday I will be watching the game. Before this move the Pro Bowl was often forgotten because it came after the Super Bowl which for most of us signifies the end of the NFL season.

Let’s take a look at the Dallas Cowboys that will be in the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl and see how they got there.

Wade Phillips
December/January winning record? Yes
Playoff Win? Yes

Tony Romo
Tony Romo made it as an injury replacement, Brees is in the Super Bowl and Favre is still recovering from the brain cramp that caused the season ending interception.

Miles Austin
Austin will start, and he started 5 fewer games than the receivers he will be playing with. Imagine what he will do next season.

Jason Witten
Jason Witten will be the second tight end behind the 49ers Vernon Davis.

Leonard Davis
The big man will be starting in the Pro Bowl, Leonard Davis proved all of the naysayers wrong with a solid year.

Andre Gurode
Andre the Giant made it as a starter, but will not play due to an injury.

Jay Ratliff
Jay Ratliff it as a starter in the 2010 Pro Bowl, he is a beast.

DeMarcus Ware
Barring injuries you expect this sack machine to make the Pro Bowl every year.

Terrence Newman & Mike Jenkins
Injuries to Charles Woodson and Dominique Rogers-Cromartie opened up the door for for the Cowboys starting corners. Newman will start in the game. Jenkins came so far so fast this year as a corner solidifying the Cowboys defense this year.
