Dallas Cowboys vs San Diego Chargers

December 8, 2009 by

Jason Garret Tony RomoThe Dallas Cowboys will face the San Diego Chargers at Cowboys Stadium in week 14. The Cowboys are coming off a tough loss on the road against the New York Giants, and in case you haven’t heard it is another loss in the month of December. Tony Romo’s 392 yards and 3 touchdowns were not enough to overcome the cowboys lack of a running game, and the big plays the otherwise solid defense gave up. This December loss felt different than most because the Cowboys played well enough to win, but a few plays didn’t go their way and then the Giants broke it open. The San Diego Chargers are bringing a 7 game winning streak to Dallas, last week they struggled some against the Browns.

Now let’s compare the Cowboys and Chargers Defenses and Offenses:

Offense:
Cowboys: Points Per Game #10 – 23.2 | Yards Per Game #3 – 394.8
Chargers: Points Per Game #3 – 28.5 | Yards Per Game #12 – 355.4
Edge: Chargers, even though the Cowboys have more yards per game the Chargers have been more efficient on offense and are averaging more points per game.

Defense:
Cowboys: Points Per Game #5 – 17.8 | Yards Per Game #14 – 328.4
Chargers: Points Per Game #15 – 20.2 | Yards Per Game #12 – 322.2
Edge: The Cowboys have held opponents to fewer points and the teams give up about the same amount of yards per game.

Prediction: Give me the Cowboys 21 Chargers 17. I think playing at home will give the Cowboys the edge the need to shut up the critics for at least one week this December.

SD is gonna win the football game.

this is gonna be a great ballgame. the red-hot Chargers coming off a 7 game winning streak, and dallas coming off a close loss to New York.

dallas struggles upon hitting thier enemies with quick impact in the start of a game. Miles Austin of course, is present for the cowboys who is expected to make some good plays, but Dallas Just can’t stop San Diego’s offense, upon having the tallest WR core. San Diego is expected to win the game.

    6,5′ Vincent Jackson
    6,5′ Malcolm Floyd
6,4′ Antonio Gates ( coming off a 149 yard game)

The deep ball threat with Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd is scary enough, witch has to draw safeties and double coverage upon those certain recievers, or else there will be coonsequences But then, how are you going to stop Antonio Gates? whos had 2 100+ yard games in a row short down the middle?

My pick is on San Diego, it’ll be a very entertaining ball game.

    for some people.

The Cowboys won’t have to stop any of them if Phillip Rivers is laying on the turf. I think the game will be close, Jackson and Floyd don’t really scare me but Gates is talented for sure.

we need a new offensive coordinator why after getting stuffed 4 times on the goal line would we run on a 2nd and 10 to put us in a long 3rd down situation this always seems to amaze me
