DeMarcus Ware Neck Injury Update

DeMarcus Ware suffered a neck injury in the 4th quarter of the Cowboys game with 11:28 left in the game. The extent of DeMarcus Ware’s injury is not known yet, but it appeared to be pretty severe. Ware was carted of the field with his head immobilized on a stretcher by EMS. DeMarcus Ware’s injury was caused when he was speed rushing around the end of the Chargers offensive line and ran head first into Chargers’ offensive lineman Brandyn Dombrowski’s leg and sprained his neck pretty badly.

From NFL.com – Sunday After the Game
The Cowboys released a statement saying Ware was taken to the hospital for X-rays after further evaluation, and confirmed he had full movement and strength in his extremities.

The injury that DeMarcus Ware suffered is a neck strain, Ware is out of the hospital and is expected to miss 2 weeks.

“He’s actually a lot better today,” coach Wade Phillips said Monday. “He’s really in a day-to-day situation as far as where he’s going to be, as far as being able to play. He took quite a hit but has really bounced back strong. That’s encouraging for him and us.”

DeMarcus Ware has yet to practice this week, but he has not been ruled out due to his speedy recovery from his sprained neck.
