Over? Did you say Over?
First of all, my apologies for the lack of posts recently. This whole final exam schedule is messing with my free time.
Now, on to business.
The Dallas Cowboys look like they’re about to proceed on with their usual December swoon. Hard to tell how this team could show so little effort in a game that really meant a lot.
There’s never really a game that doesn’t mean a lot. Even for teams like St. Louis and Cleveland – keep losing, and you might get that #1 pick. See? That’s something!
But there seems to be a sentiment out there among Dallas Cowboys “fans” that want the team to lose, maybe even lose the rest of their games, in order for Jerry Jones to clean house.
I could not disagree more with this theory.
Would I like to see the Dallas Cowboys clean house? Not particularly. I do think this team needs a new voice, but Wade Phillips’ contract is up at the end of the season. Without a playoff win, I don’t see how he stays. What this team really needs to do is get a coach in here like Josh McDaniels.
Why McDaniels? Because Josh McD came in and immediately let everyone know who the boss was. His players were going to be playing his way, and if they didn’t like that, they would be out the door in a hurry.
Oh wait. We just had the Tuna do that for four years and he made everyone miserable. So never mind.
So who do we need?
Someone who doesn’t stare out at the field like it’s a super hard Sudoku puzzle.
Someone who doesn’t celebrate like he just won the Super Bowl every time we get a first down. (Seriously, Wade. You need to cut this out. I love seeing emotion, but this. This cannot stand. This buffoonery cannot stand.)
Someone who doesn’t get complacent after his team wins three or four games in a row.
We need…a Cowher.
Not just a Cowher, either. The Cowher. Bill Cowher.
Or at least someone else. I probably won’t complain too much as long as I’ve heard of the guy. Maybe Brian Billick’s available. I mean I see him all the time in those Coors Light ads.
So what is a Dallas Cowboys fan to do? Root for our beloved team to lose and lose often? NEVER.
Root for our beloved team to turn the tables on everyone and become the “Nobody believed in us” team du jour? ABSOLUTELY.
I think we could all use a nice pep talk here:
Animal House – Bluto’s Inspiration Speech (Language NSFW – a little salty. 1:35 mark for the good stuff.)
That’s what I’m talking about.
