Dallas Round-Up – Cowboys Prepare For Colts, Mavs Are On Fire, Stars Rolling Too

Dallas Round-Up – Cowboys Prepare For Colts, Mavs Are On Fire, Stars Rolling Too
College football betting players don’t have much to worry about in the Dallas area, but two of the professional teams are lighting up the league, while the major story in the city are getting ready to face another tough opponent, this time on the road.
The Cowboys battled hard in a 30-27 loss at home to New Orleans on Thanksgiving Thursday, snapping a two-game winning streak under Jason Garrett. The offense put up 457 yards, but had three turnovers, and a Roy Williams fumble in New Orleans’ territory gave the Saints a chance to score a late touchdown, while David Buehler narrowly missed a 59-yard field goal that would have tied the game. The Cowboys now move onto Indianapolis as 5-point football betting underdogs, but the Colts are struggling, particularly Peyton Manning, and the Cowboys should see this as a chance to build more momentum for next year.
The Mavericks are one of the hottest teams in the league as they carry a seven-game winning streak into Utah on Friday night, and this is intriguing because both teams have won seven in a row heading into this contest, so something obviously has to give. The Mavericks started last week with a nine-point win in San Antonio on Friday, which ended a 12-game winning streak for the Spurs, then beat the underachieving Miami Heat at home on Saturday night. The Mavericks then beat Houston at home by 10 on Monday, then by 14 points over Minnesota on Wednesday, and they’re coming together better than a lot of people thought. After the Utah showdown on Friday, the Mavericks head to Sacramento on Saturday, then back home for Golden State on Tuesday.
If you checked out the NHL sports news and were surprised to find the Stars on top of the Pacific Division, you weren’t alone, but neither is Dallas: as of Thursday, they were tied with Phoenix and Anaheim on 29 points, while Los Angeles and San Jose are only three points back. The Stars had won four in a row ahead of Thursday’s visit from Washington, winning at Ottawa, followed by back-to-back victories over St. Louis, then another road win at Carolina. The Stars allowed four goals in those four games, and that will always give you a good chance to win. After the Washington game, the Stars host Minnesota on Saturday night, followed by road games at Columbus and Chicago. Even moreso than the Mavericks, no one expected the Stars to be this competitive in the Pacific Division, which is loaded with talent, but if they keep this up, it’ll be more difficult to ignore their NHL betting odds in your online sportsbook.
Week 13: Dallas Cowboys at Indianapolis Colts
December 1, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
At the beginning of the season the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys were heralded as Super Bowl Contenders, but as the season winds down the teams are both looking pretty bad. The Cowboys playoff ship sailed away without the team on board long ago, the best the Boys can do is 8 – 8 – 0, and that is if they win every game left in the season. However the Cowboys are 2 – 1 – 0 under Jason Garrett and Tony Romo could come back before the seasons end.
The Colts have been decimated by injuries all season on both Offense and Defense. It has finally got to the point where Peyton Manning can’t cover up the teams weaknesses on offense anymore. At 6 – 5 – 0 Indianapolis is tied with Jacksonville atop the AFC South division, the Colts still have a realistic chance of making the playoffs if they can get things on track again.
Prediction Cowboys at Colts
Even though the game is in Indianapolis, the Cowboys will win by a narrow margin. Peyton Manning looked flustered last week and the Colts defense will be exploited if Peyton and the Colts offense can’t eat up the clock. Look for Cowboys RB Tashard Choice to have increased carries if Marion Barber can’t go on Sunday. You can find the Kickoff TIme, TV Time, TV Channel and TV Announcers below:

Dallas Cowboys Update: Cowboys Fans Ready to Host Saints

Dallas Cowboys Update: Cowboys Fans Ready to Host Saints
It is that time of the year that all betting experts look forward to each year. It is the time when the NFL betting focuses on three Thanksgiving Day games that are always interesting and usually have some sort of playoff implications. The Dallas Cowboys have been putting up some good NFL scores lately, and while the Cowboys are not going to live up to preseason NFL predictions, they get the chance to ruin the playoff positioning of the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
Three weeks ago Dallas Cowboys fans would have had a completely different outlook on the annual Thanksgiving Day game. But after the firing of head coach Wade Phillips and a two-game winning streak to mark the start of the Jason Garrett era in Dallas, Cowboys fans are much more optimistic about their chances of winning this game. There is a buzz around Dallas that the Cowboys have the ability to make the playoff hopes a for the defending champion New Orleans Saints a little tougher by beating the Saints on Thanksgiving Day.
Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is still throwing in practice, but is not at full speed and is not taking part in contact drills. The Cowboys are still estimating that Romo will be out at least another three weeks. In his place, back-up Jon Kitna has been managing games very well and giving the Cowboys a chance to win just about every game they have played since Romo was injured.
The story behind the newest Cowboys sensation, rookie cornerback Bryan McCann, is an inspiring one. McCann was not part of the combine or the draft. He signed with the Cowboys, but Dallas released him. McCann was picked up by the Ravens, but they never put him on the roster and let him go. Now McCann has been the two-time NFC player of the week for the Cowboys and has returned two interceptions for touchdowns. McCann’s 101-yard interception return for a touchdown is one of the longest such plays in NFL history. He is the first player since the 1950 season to return two interceptions for touchdowns of 90 yards or greater back-to-back. From being cut to NFL fame in just a few weeks is the story of Bryan McCann, and it is one that all aspiring football players should listen to.
It looks like running back Marion Barber may be getting the ball more often in the Dallas offense. Barber is the only running back with a rushing touchdown on the Dallas roster, and he has shown a determination lately that has not been lost on the Cowboys coaching staff. Barber has been extremely hard to tackle lately and he has been able to protect the football. Felix Jones continues to be the number one running back on the depth chart, but fans can expect to see more of Barber and his pounding rushing style in future games for the Dallas Cowboys. Barber could be moved from his third-down status back to being an every down back by this week.
Thanksgiving: Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints

After beating the Giants and Lions the Dallas Cowboys are 2 – 0 under Jason Garrett (aka Red Jesus). I am definitely a Jason Garrett supporter, but his no BS approach to the Cowboys seems to be working (for now). A few more wins and he could actually prove all of his critics (myself included) wrong by becoming the head coach of the Cowboys next season and that idea is actually starting to grow on me.
The Cowboys face the Saints who are in the middle of a tight race in the NFC South (currently tied for 2nd behind Atlanta). Even though the Cowboys season is all but mathematically over, they can still have an effect the NFL playoff landscape. As Cowboys fans we are relegated to watching our team play spoiler for teams still have playoff hopes. The Saints are one of these teams, so make sure and tune in your tv to see if Garrett and the Cowboys can give us something to be thankful for. NFL Week 11: Dallas Cowboys vs Detroit Lions

The Dallas Cowboys vs Detroit Lions TV Channel, TV Time, Kickoff Time and TV Announcers can be found at the end of this article, but first things first.
Jason Garrett aka Red Jesus led the Dallas Cowboys to their first victory since week 3 of the NFL season. The in the media all week was about how bad the Cowboys were going to be crushed by the Giants, but the Cowboys showed some backbone and actually showed up to play. So for at least one week I will not post anything bad about Jason Garrett, because it seems that he is making the Cowboys more accountable.
The Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions in week 11 of the NFL season in one of the Noon match ups on Sunday. There may not have been a game played with less on the line in the NFL this season, the Cowboys are ( 2 – 7 – 0 ) and the Lions are ( 2 – 7 – 0 ). The Lions star QB and Highland Park HS Graduate Matthew Stafford and Cowboys star QB Tony Romo have been lost for most, possibly all of this season. Remember that if this game gets to bad to watch you can check out the rest of the NFL TV Schedule for week 11. Red Jesus (Jason Garrett) Has Arrived

The Cowboys played much better than expected against the Giants, Is Jason Garrett truly Red Jesus? Probably not, but as Cowboys fans we can hope.

Week 10 Preview: Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
November 9, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants TV Channel, TV Time, Kickoff Time and TV Announcers can be found at the end of this article, but first things first.
The Dallas Cowboys will travel to New Meadowlands Stadium to play the red hot New York Giants. As we know the Cowboys have struggled all season to live up to their larger than life billing. Wade Phillips payed for their poor performance with his job Monday. Is Jason Garrett the solution? probably not, but he will be the head coach, for now at least. The offense under Garrett is inefficient, and has continued to be one of the biggest problems again. Did Jerry Jones just hand the keys to Jason Garrett, the man responsible for the offensive problems? Yes, but what other choice did he have? My prediction is that Garrett will flop and be fired by the end of the year.
Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Game Prediction
The Cowboys will get slaughtered in New York if they put up an effort like they did against the Packers and Jaguars. You really can’t expect a better effort either, the Cowboys are made up of supposed superstars, but when you read between the lines the talent level isn’t as advertised. Our supposed superstars aren’t playing anywhere near the level they did a season ago, and the other players on the roster are spares. The Cowboys don’t have any blue collar glue guys that fill out a roster, just superstars and spares.

Wade Phillips Fired, Jason Garrett in as Head Coach

Wade Phillips Out, Jason Garret in as Head Coach
As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Dallas Cowboys, now Red Jesus is talking over the reins.
CBS 11 is reporting that Wade Phillips is fired and Jason Garrett is in as the interim head coach. I don’t feel any better about Jason Garrett as head coach.
However, I do hope that he flops at head coach and we can get rid of his big bag of nothing as well.
This would open the door for a completely new head coach, hopefully on willing to put the talent on the Cowboys in positions to succeed.

Week 7 Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants
October 22, 2010 by Matt Lawrence · Leave a Comment
The Cowboys will face the New York Football Giants on Monday night football for NFL week 7. There are no stats to throw at you to make you feel any better either, the Cowboy are still horribly inefficient on offense and the defense has been inconsistent. The Cowboys have played so poorly that baseball has been the talk of the town deep in the heart of football country. Yes the Texas Rangers are in the playoffs, but normally that wouldn’t displace the Cowboys faithful. However their awful play has relegated them to the back seat of the Dallas sports world. If you need any more evidence as to why please watch the video above.
Hopefully the Cowboys will find their way this week, however it may be to little to late. The Cowboys have quickly burned through the amount of games that a team can lose and still make the playoffs. Below you will find the TV Channel, TV announcers, Kickoff time and other game information.
