Dallas Cowboys Captains for the 2009 NFL Season

Leadership questions have been the popular topic in one of the quietest off seasons in recent Cowboy history. Jerry released self appointed unofficial captain WR Terrell Owens this off season in an attempt to fix the lack of control the Dallas Cowboys captains had over the locker room. TO had caused a divide in the locker room and just as he has everywhere he has played. The 2009 Dallas Cowboys captains will have a hard task ahead of them to shed the title that the media has given them, especially since this is just speculation because very few members will ever be in the locker room or huddle to witness the Dallas Cowboys captains display leadership.
The Dallas Cowboys captains for the 2009 season will be:
- QB Tony Romo
- TE Jason Witten
- LB Bradie James
- LB DeMarcus Ware
The Dallas Cowboys special teams captain will be chosen each week based on the previous weeks performance. P Mat Mcbriar will take the honors as Captain for the Cowboys – Buccaneers game on Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys starting special teams aka those with the possibility of being a Dallas Cowboys captain are:
- Punter – Mat Mcbriar
- Field Goal Kicker – Nick Folk
- Kickoff Kicker – David Buehler
- Field Goal Holder – Mat Mcbriar
- Kick Off Returner – Felix Jones
- Punt Returner – Patrick Crayton
- Long Snapper – L.P. Ladoucer
