NFL Week 6: Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings

October 14, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

The Cowboys aren’t used to taking a back seat in to other sports teams in Dallas, but fans are getting tired of sloppy play and excuses. Plus the Rangers are in the playoffs. Dallas Cowboys fans are well aware that even though the Cowboys roster is talented, however the team has not been able to get it together on the field, and the result is a 1 – 3 record. 1 win and 3 losses puts the Cowboys firmly in last place of the NFC East, the Eagles, Redskins and Giants are all 3 and 2.

This week the Cowboys have to win against a tough Minnesota Vikings team in Minnesota to keep a glimmer of playoff hope alive for the season. Frankly I think Percy Harvin (WR) and Visanthe Shiancoe (TE) are going to expose the Cowboys problems at inside linebacker and Randy Moss (WR) is going to expose our weakness at safety, unless we can get the pass rush going. Or maybe this is the week Brett Favre will get suspended for texting dong shots to that poor Jets reporter. If Brett does play and the game takes a turn for the worst check out the rest of the NFL Week 6 preview over at MSF.

DSF Post #300: Fun with Vikings & Google

January 12, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

This is the 300th post for Dallas Sports Fans. I took over as managing editor in May 2009, and at first I was excited when 100 people read one of our posts. Dallas Sports Fans has enjoyed steady growth and now posts are viewed by thousands of readers. This growth in traffic would not be possible without those providing our traffic, you the reader, without you there would be no reason to write. Feel free to let me know what we are doing wrong, right, or if you just want to start a conversation (do this in the comments or contact us page). The growth of Dallas Sports Fans would also not be possible without the great authors and their contributions we have enjoyed this year. On behalf of Dallas Sports Fans I would like to thank:

  • Derick Schaefer - For making this all possible. Check out his writing on How to Blog.tv
  • Jerod Morris - of Midwest Sports Fans Fame for all his help
  • Cody Dunlap - A Bad Ass in his own right.
  • Kimberly Westphall - Dallas Stars Ice Girls Post, check out more of her work at Midwest Sports Fans.
  • The Rev Speaks: Matthew Fuller - for his insightful articles about the goings on in the Dallas Sports World
  • Nic. Hernandez - for his post about 15 white stiffs the Mavericks have run out over the years
  • Anyone Else I forgot

Now that the Thanks has been given lets have some fun with Google’s waterfall and the Vikings.
note:This does not represent Google’s actual feelings or opinions towards any of the players or coaches listed below. However this does represent what the users of Google are searching on.

Brett Favre is a Douche

1.) Google agrees that Brett Favre is a Douche among other things in this waterfall.

Jared Allen is a Douche

2.) Google seems love and hate the Vikings DE Jared Allen.

Brad Childress is a Douche

3.) Google does not think to highly of Brad Childress either.

Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings Preview

Cowboys Won so the Picture remains

The Dallas Cowboys will go on the road to play the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round for the 2010 NFL Playoffs. The Cowboys will have a much tougher task ahead of them at kickoff time this week, facing a talented Minnesota Vikings team on the road instead of an ailing Eagles team at home. The Vikings are loaded with talent at almost every position except for two major areas, their offensive line and their safeties. The Vikings mediocre offensive line has led to a decline in Adrian Peterson’s stats this season. Anthony Spencer, DeMarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff will need to take advantage of this situation and keep Favre on his back so he can’t spread the ball to the Vikings plethora of weapons.
Preview, Kickoff Time, Statistical Breakdown and more after the jump!

Dallas Cowboys Preseason Schedule Week 4 – Vikings

August 31, 2009 by · 2 Comments

Dallas Cowboys Marion Barber - Minnesota VikingsOnce again the Dallas Cowboys starters shined in the first half of week 3′s game against the 49ers. Dallas Cowboys Marion Barber and Felix Jones were like thunder and lightning. Marion Barber thundered over the 49er defenders, and Felix Jones lightening quick moves almost broke him free for a big play. That was the upside of the Cowboys loss to the 49ers. Once the backup players got in the Cowboys looked absolutely terrible, WR Isaiah Stanback fumbled a pass from QB Jon Kitna in the 4th quarter that cost the Cowboys the game, and also may cost Stanback his football career with the Dallas Cowboys. After the 49ers field goal from Stanback’s fumble, backup CB Courtney Brown made the worst play of the game when he tackled a receiver before he had a chance to make a play on the ball. The resulting pass interference call jump started the 49ers drive that later ended up in a touchdown for the win.

This week the Dallas Cowboys will face the Minnesota Vikings and the man, the myth, the legend, Brett Favre and his big bag of nothing that he has carried with him for the last couple of seasons. The Vikings locker room is reported to be divided between QB Brett Favre and then the rest of the team. Apparently the Vikings players want Tarvaris Jackson to be the starter instead, you know since he actually went to training camp.
