Dallas Round-Up – Cowboys Prepare For Colts, Mavs Are On Fire, Stars Rolling Too
College football betting players don’t have much to worry about in the Dallas area, but two of the professional teams are lighting up the league, while the major story in the city are getting ready to face another tough opponent, this time on the road.
The Cowboys battled hard in a 30-27 loss at home to New Orleans on Thanksgiving Thursday, snapping a two-game winning streak under Jason Garrett. The offense put up 457 yards, but had three turnovers, and a Roy Williams fumble in New Orleans’ territory gave the Saints a chance to score a late touchdown, while David Buehler narrowly missed a 59-yard field goal that would have tied the game. The Cowboys now move onto Indianapolis as 5-point football betting underdogs, but the Colts are struggling, particularly Peyton Manning, and the Cowboys should see this as a chance to build more momentum for next year.
The Mavericks are one of the hottest teams in the league as they carry a seven-game winning streak into Utah on Friday night, and this is intriguing because both teams have won seven in a row heading into this contest, so something obviously has to give. The Mavericks started last week with a nine-point win in San Antonio on Friday, which ended a 12-game winning streak for the Spurs, then beat the underachieving Miami Heat at home on Saturday night. The Mavericks then beat Houston at home by 10 on Monday, then by 14 points over Minnesota on Wednesday, and they’re coming together better than a lot of people thought. After the Utah showdown on Friday, the Mavericks head to Sacramento on Saturday, then back home for Golden State on Tuesday.
If you checked out the NHL sports news and were surprised to find the Stars on top of the Pacific Division, you weren’t alone, but neither is Dallas: as of Thursday, they were tied with Phoenix and Anaheim on 29 points, while Los Angeles and San Jose are only three points back. The Stars had won four in a row ahead of Thursday’s visit from Washington, winning at Ottawa, followed by back-to-back victories over St. Louis, then another road win at Carolina. The Stars allowed four goals in those four games, and that will always give you a good chance to win. After the Washington game, the Stars host Minnesota on Saturday night, followed by road games at Columbus and Chicago. Even moreso than the Mavericks, no one expected the Stars to be this competitive in the Pacific Division, which is loaded with talent, but if they keep this up, it’ll be more difficult to ignore their NHL betting odds in your online sportsbook.
Thanksgiving: Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints

After beating the Giants and Lions the Dallas Cowboys are 2 – 0 under Jason Garrett (aka Red Jesus). I am definitely a Jason Garrett supporter, but his no BS approach to the Cowboys seems to be working (for now). A few more wins and he could actually prove all of his critics (myself included) wrong by becoming the head coach of the Cowboys next season and that idea is actually starting to grow on me.
The Cowboys face the Saints who are in the middle of a tight race in the NFC South (currently tied for 2nd behind Atlanta). Even though the Cowboys season is all but mathematically over, they can still have an effect the NFL playoff landscape. As Cowboys fans we are relegated to watching our team play spoiler for teams still have playoff hopes. The Saints are one of these teams, so make sure and tune in your tv to see if Garrett and the Cowboys can give us something to be thankful for. Cowboys vs Saints Thanksgiving Game Tickets

Well you might not feel like there is much to be thankful for this season fellow Cowboys fans, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be a Thanksgiving game here in big D. Dallas Cowboys Tickets are still available for the Cowboys vs Saints game, and what better way to feel thankful for everything that is right in your life than watching everything that is wrong with the Cowboys right now.
The thanksgiving game is a tradition in Dallas, and as a kid I was lucky enough to go to the game most years. However this was mostly in the late 90′s and early 00′s so the games weren’t great, but it sure does beat sitting around doing nothing spending time with the family. Dallas Cowboys Tickets for the Cowboys 2010 Thanksgiving day game can be found at StubHub! still, the game is at 3:15 Central Time against the New Orleans Saints. Here is Cowboys Stadium Parking Information.

NFL Week 15 – Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints
Saturday, December 19, 8:20 p.m. ET
Sports Handicapping Favorite: Saints -7
Cowboys offense vs Saints defense
The Dallas Cowboys have once again turned into Cinderella’s carriage and the proverbial midnight is the month of December. To the uneducated fan, they will be quick to pin the blame on quarterback Tony Romo but the truth is that he has played just fine in the month of December. Through two December games, Romo has 641 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. Even so, the Cowboys only converted one third down last week against the Chargers, so not everything is right.
People making their NFL predictions this week probably won’t side with the Cowboys but they do have the perfect offense to beat the Saints. The Cowboys need to run the ball effectively with Marion Barber and Felix Jones, and limit the amount of time that the Saints offense has the football. If they can do that, they’ll have an excellent chance to win this game.
Cowboys defense vs Saints offense
The Cowboys defense will clearly have its hands full. Sportsbooks like Bodog (Bodog Review) have the total for this contest set at a whopping 53.5, so not many people are expecting a field goal match.
The Saints have a prolific passing game with several weapons. Drew Brees is the triggerman and he has several weapons with Marques Colston, Devery Henderson, Robert Meachem, Jeremy Shockey and Reggie Bush. Clearly, the Cowboys will be overmatched.
Even so, the Saints have been playing closer and closer games over the last few weeks and the Cowboys have more on the line in this contest. That might be enough to motivate them to play with heart on defense.
Outlook
The Cowboys are once again coming apart at the seams and now they face the lone undefeated team in the NFC. That doesn’t sound like the recipe for success.
But even so, the Cowboys have their playoff hopes on the line while the Saints are playing for a perfect season – clearly, the Cowboys should have more pep in their step.
At the end of the day, though, the Cowboys main fault has been execution and while they have an excellent chance to cover the spread in this game, the Saints will find a way to win and stay perfect.

Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints Preview:
December 15, 2009 by Matt Lawrence · 9 Comments
The Dallas Cowboys lost another game in December in case you haven’t heard that yet. The loss to the Chargers was frustrating because the Cowboys left 10 points on the field. Nick Folk missed another field goal which now brings the miss total up to 9 for the year, can someone please make the decision to cut this kid and please fire Jason Garrett and the insanity that is his play calling. How many times did he call the same play before we turned the ball over on downs on the goal line?……..Deep Breath…..Exhale
This Week
Well I would like to throw some statistics out there that would make us all feel better about the Dallas Cowboys going to the Superdome and playing the Saints, but there really aren’t any at all. Let’s look anyway:
