Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown – Dallas

The next Showdown will be hosted at the Taste of Dallas this coming Saturday
Specifically, the competition will start at 4PM in the parking lot near the Main gate.
The Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown is all about finding the best amateur dunkers in 8 major US cities and pitting them against each other in a nationwide competition.
Dunkers & Fans:
Dunkers can compete in the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown either by attending one of the Showdown events or by submitting videos online at NBA.com/dunk. Fans also have an opportunity to participate at the event as the judges of the final round through text-in voting (just like the Saturday night competition at NBA All-Star). Fans also have the chance to vote on their favorite dunkers of the ten that are chosen as semi-finals (8 from the events, 2 from the online competition, which is judged by LeBron James, Darryl Dawkins and the All-Stars).
The Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown Champion in Dallas will win $1000 and a chance to compete at NBA All-Star in February of 2011.

2010 NBA All Star Slam Dunk Competition

The 2010 NBA All Star Slam Dunk Contest will be held in Dallas at the American Airlines Center on Saturday. The competition will not feature Lebron James or any other of the top tier NBA All Stars, but this event is exciting with out them anyway. I mean would we all like to see Lebron compete sure, but Lebron and other top tier All Stars don’t compete because the event will not do much to help them and could potentially hurt them. If Lebron wins, we would all say “Lebron should win the Dunk competition”, and if he loses everyone would question him like they did when the video of him getting dunked on surfaced this summer.
Lets take a look at who is competing as well as what tv channel, time & date and other information you will need to know heading into Saturday’s slam dunk competition. Gordon and DeRozan will compete in a Dunk-in to see who will compete in the competition.
