Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Head To Postseason, Cowboys Win Ugly Over Redskins
October 4, 2011 by Guest Contributor · Leave a Comment
Fishing season is almost over, which means it may be time to start focusing on other sports in the Dallas area, and right now it’s all about the Texas Rangers, who are en route to the playoffs as the American League West champions for the second straight year, while the Dallas Cowboys used a big night from their kicker to beat their biggest rivals.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers strolled into the postseason, winning the West by 10 games over the Los Angeles Angels, and they also won their final six games of the season, taking three games from Seattle at home followed by a three-game sweep of the Angels on the road to close out the season. But now you’ll have to start checking out BetOnline.com reviews on their upcoming ALDS series against a Tampa Bay team that surged into the playoffs with the most unlikeliest of runs, and they have a ton of momentum on their side after outlasting Boston. The Rangers have won five of their nine meetings with Tampa Bay this season, with four games going under the posted total, along with a couple of pushes. The action kicks off on Friday at home for the Rangers, who will have C.J. Wilson on the mound to take on the Rays’ James Shields in a meeting of 16-win pitchers. World Series betting players should get ready for one wild postseason.
Dallas Cowboys
If you’re doing some football betting online, you should have been able to wager on the entertainment value of Monday’s 18-16 win for the Cowboys over Washington at home, because there wasn’t much at all. Dan Bailey nailed all six of his field-goal attempts, while the defense held up their end of the bargain in an ugly affair, but looks don’t matter when you get the “W”. Tony Romo fought off his rib issues to throw for 255 yards and a pick, but Felix Jones had the better night while playing hurt, rushing for 115 yards with a shoulder problem. It was the second straight game that the Cowboys won while not playing their best, and they have yet to put it all together in one game. They’ll be hoping that comes this week when the red-hot Detroit Lions come to town, and the Cowboys are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five meetings with the Lions, with four games going over the posted total. This could end up being a shootout and the best game of the week, and the Cowboys can go all out with a bye coming up in Week 5. However, you have to be sure to check the injury reports before heading to your sports betting book.
Dallas Sports Fan – Rangers Face Huge Week, Cowboys Prepare For Regular Season

While fishing fans get ready for the final long weekend of the summer, most sports betting players will be gearing up for a big week when it comes to the Texas Rangers, who are about to embark on a road trip that could make or break their season. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys will line up for their preseason finale on Thursday night.
Texas Rangers
While the Rangers are still the MLB betting favorites to take the American League West, they can’t take their foot off the gas yet as they’re only up on the Los Angeles Angels by 3.5 games after winning two of three against the Angels last weekend. The Rangers followed up that series by splitting the first two games of their series at home against Tampa Bay, with the finale going off on Thursday night. It won’t get any easier over the next week as well as the Rangers will board a plane after the Tampa Bay game and head straight to Boston for a crucial three-game set against the Red Sox in a clash of two teams with real aspirations of claiming the American League pennant. Then, the Rangers will head to Tampa Bay for another meeting with the Rays, and they can’t afford to slip up with the Angels hot on their heels.
Dallas Cowboys
If you make NFL picks, the third game of the preseason is the game you should watch as teams gave their starters as much work as they’ll receive before the regular season kicks off next week. The Cowboys came away with a 23-17 win in Minnesota, a place that has given them all kinds of trouble in the regular season, so hopefully, they’ll have some confidence for their next trip to the Midwest. Tony Romo was 15-of-20 for 141 yards, while Dez Bryant had five catches for 67 yards, and it isn’t a stretch to think that Bryant could be the breakout player of the year if Romo can stay healthy. Some NFL fans and analysts are skeptical of Bryant because of a few off-field problems, but Bryant is incredibly talented and has the potential to be the Cowboys’ No.1 receiver at some point this year, even with Miles Austin and tight end Jason Witten on the field. The Cowboys will wrap up their preseason in Miami as they look to fill out their roster, so don’t expect to see the starters on the field for very long, at most, a series or two. Look for the center position to be an area of focus as Dallas released Pro Bowler Andre Gurode, and since the Cowboys have to keep Romo on the field after last year’s broken clavicle, the line will be a crucial element of their sports betting odds.
Dallas Sports Fan – Mavs Fall In Game 1, Rangers Headed For Cleveland Showdown

Belmont betting players can respect the grind of a professional season as the final race of the Triple Crown is the longest of all three, and it’s not always about how fast you are. In the NBA, Dallas got off to a slow start in the NBA Finals, but they still have a chance, while in MLB action, Texas is preparing hit the second part of the season with a big series against the surprise team of the majors.
The Mavericks fell 92-84 in Miami in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, shooting a miserable 37.3% from the field, and they were also beaten terribly on the offensive glass by a margin of 16-6. Dirk Nowitzki dropped 27 points, while Shawn Marion added 16 points, but Dallas got nothing from their bench; Jason Terry and J.J. Barea went 4-of-18 from the floor, combining for 14 points, and the Mavericks need far more points than off the bench because their starters can’t outscore their Miami counterparts. The Mavericks are 4.5-point underdogs in your pay per head sportsbook for Game 2 on Thursday night, also in Miami, and they would love to snatch a win before heading home for three possible games, since the Finals uses a 2-3-2 format. Also of note, Nowitzki has a torn tendon in a finger on his non-shooting hand that he suffered in Game 1, but he says it’s not bothering him and it shouldn’t be an issue. Still, it’s something worth paying attention to.
The Rangers are starting to roll, as MLB betting players watched them take two of three from Kansas City at home last weekend, and then they went to Tampa Bay and took two of three from the Rays. Their two losses came in an extra-inning affair with the Royals last Friday in a game that lasted 14 innings, and they also lost by a run to the Rays, who got an eighth-inning homer from Evan Longoria. However, the Rangers still sit atop the American League West with a 1.5-game lead over Seattle as they get ready for a massive series on the road in Cleveland, who still have the best record in the major leagues and are causing many to wonder if they’re actually for real. Beginning on Thursday, the Rangers will be in Cleveland for four games in this tilt of American League division leaders, before returning home on Monday for a three-game set with another team from the Central, Detroit. There are 3.5 games separating first from last in the West, and the Rangers can’t afford to slip up, so look for them to be a factor in your online sportsbook over the next week.
Game 5 Preview: Texas Rangers vs Tampa Bay Rays

The Claw and Antlers couldn’t get it done in Arlington, and now the Rangers and Rays will return to Tampa Bay for ALDS game 5. The Rangers played sloppy defense and couldn’t get anything going on offense. If the Rangers want to win ALDS game 5 against the Rays they will have to pick up their play on both sides of the ball.
Rangers at Rays Game 5 Preview
Cliff Lee and David Price will take the mound in a game 5. If this sounds familiar, it should these two faced each other in game 1 of the Rangers-Rays playoff series. Cliff Lee looked dominant for the Rangers in game 1, and David Price didn’t impress. Don’t expect this to be a Rangers blowout again. The Rays seem to have it figured out on offense and the Rangers are looking sloppy in the field, which should make for a close game.

Texas Rangers Schedule 2009 | July
July 2, 2009 by Matt Lawrence · 1 Comment

The Rangers got bumped from first place due to a power outage in their batting lineup. Although their 11 wins and 15 losses is not bad considering the lack of offense they displayed in June. July brings the All Star Break and the return of Josh Hamilton will hopefully allow the Rangers to turn their current slide around. Hamilton is currently on a rehab assignment with the Texas Rangers various minor league teams including the Frisco Rough Riders and is expected to return in early July. Julio Borbon the Ranger’s center field prospect is now up with the team and their have been rumblings that pitching prospect Neftali Feliz is on his way to the Texas Rangers Bullpen.
Texas Rangers Schedule – TV & Tickets
The Rangers will be on Fox Sports Southwest for most of July except for the lone game on ESPN against the Rays. The Rangers will host the Rays on the 4th of July, and Rangers Tickets are still available for this game and others.
