Thanksgiving: Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints

After beating the Giants and Lions the Dallas Cowboys are 2 – 0 under Jason Garrett (aka Red Jesus). I am definitely a Jason Garrett supporter, but his no BS approach to the Cowboys seems to be working (for now). A few more wins and he could actually prove all of his critics (myself included) wrong by becoming the head coach of the Cowboys next season and that idea is actually starting to grow on me.

The Cowboys face the Saints who are in the middle of a tight race in the NFC South (currently tied for 2nd behind Atlanta). Even though the Cowboys season is all but mathematically over, they can still have an effect the NFL playoff landscape. As Cowboys fans we are relegated to watching our team play spoiler for teams still have playoff hopes. The Saints are one of these teams, so make sure and tune in your tv to see if Garrett and the Cowboys can give us something to be thankful for. Well you might not feel like there is much to be thankful for this season fellow Cowboys fans, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be a Thanksgiving game here in big D. Dallas Cowboys Tickets are still available for the Cowboys vs Saints game, and what better way to feel thankful for everything that is right in your life than watching everything that is wrong with the Cowboys right now.

The thanksgiving game is a tradition in Dallas, and as a kid I was lucky enough to go to the game most years. However this was mostly in the late 90′s and early 00′s so the games weren’t great, but it sure does beat sitting around ~~doing nothing~~ spending time with the family. The #3 Texas Longhorns control their own destiny this year, if the team can win the remaining games on their schedule and the Big 12 Championship they will play for the national title. #1 Florida and #2 Alabama will play each other in the SEC Championship, whichever team loses will no doubt fall below the Longhorns.

The first hurdle standing in the path of the Texas Longhorns national title hopes is Thanksgiving against the Texas A&M Aggies, who have 6 wins and 5 losses this year. This rivalry, now named the State Farm Lone Star Showdown, will be played in College Station this year. Texas is the better team, but traveling to your rivals home field can always make things more interesting, my prediction is that the game will stay close in the first half, before the Longhorns build up their lead and win 34 to 17.

Dallas Cowboys vs Oakland Raiders – Thanksgiving Game

The Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving day game is by far my favorite, this is the only game where you know you don’t have anything else to do except for lay on your couch with a stomach overstuffed with yummy goodness and travel in and out of consciousness while your team plays. More often then not our boys get to play a terrible team like this years opponent the Oakland Raiders. So please enjoy some cold beers, turkey, and hopefully a Dallas Cowboys win over the Raiders, Right Jerry?

I could go in depth and talk about this match up, but I don’t want to because it is plain and simple. The Raiders Suck and the Cowboys need to beat them, so please Cowboys don’t ruin my thanksgiving by losing to these sad sacks like the Eagles did. Instead of a game analysis I would like to leave you with the 5 of the many reasons that the Raiders suck.

5 Reasons why the Raiders suck!
1.) This is the position you drafted JaMarcus Russell, nice pick douchers – Quarterbacks of the 2007 Draft
2.) You selected Darrius Heyward-Bey 7th overall, and before Michael Crabtree. Newsflash Crabtree has 215 in 4 games, and Heyward-Bey only has 96 yards in 9 games. Once again nice pick douchers.
3.) You got blown out by the Jets, actually not only blown out, you got shut out too. 38 – 0 haha
4.) You booted Shanahan and Gruden for a slew of no name coaches who sucked, and then when you did get a coach who cared you booted Lane Kiffin and his hot wife Layla Kiffin.
5.) Al Davis is just flat out creepy looking.
